The Ceremony & Reception: Emotion, Movement, and Storytelling
Editing: Where the Magic Happens
Before the couple even sees me, I’m already preparing: • Checking and prepping gear – Every camera, lens, mic, and battery needs to be flawless. Backup equipment? Always ready. • Scouting light & locations – Whether it’s at the Salt Flats, in a beautiful garden in Spain, or a Red Rocks, I make mental notes of the best places to capture cinematic shots. • Blending in & capturing moments naturally – The goal is to make sure everything feels authentic, not staged. I move quietly, capturing the excitement, anticipation, and quiet moments before the ceremony.
Bridal sessions are some of my favorite moments to film because they allow for a more intimate, intentional approach. Whether it’s a quick session after the ceremony or a standalone bridal shoot before the big day, this is where I get to focus on movement, emotion, and the personal story of the bride. • I guide, but never over-pose – Instead of stiff, awkward movements, I help my brides feel confident, natural, and relaxed, capturing the way the dress flows, the way they move, and the real emotion behind their excitement. • Scenic backdrops + luxury aesthetics – Whether it’s mountains, an open field, or a stunning venue, I choose locations that add depth and emotion to the film. • Cinematic details – The delicate lace on a dress, a hand brushing through the veil, the way the light catches a bride’s expression—these small moments are what make a wedding film feel timeless.
Bridal sessions are so much more than just a photoshoot—they’re a chance to slow down and capture the beauty of the moment in a way that feels intentional and cinematic.
Once the wedding is in full swing, my focus shifts to capturing emotion and movement in real time. • Multiple angles, seamless coverage – I set up strategic camera positions to capture vows, reactions, and everything in between. • Capturing audio that matters – Vows, toasts, and meaningful words are just as important as the visuals, and I ensure every word is recorded with crystal-clear sound. • Authentic moments, not forced poses – Whether it’s a quick stolen glance, a deep breath before walking down the aisle, or hands intertwining during the first dance, I look for those unscripted moments that make your film feel personal.
The reception is where the energy shifts, and I adjust my filming style accordingly—capturing movement, the celebratory atmosphere, and the spontaneous, unfiltered joy.
A wedding film isn’t just about what happens on the wedding day—it’s about how the story is told afterward. • Selecting the best moments – Not everything makes the cut, only the shots that tell a cohesive, emotional story. • Sound design & music selection – The right music, combined with pristine vows, laughter, and ambient sound, creates a film that feels immersive. • Crafting a film that transports you back – The goal? Not just to remind you what happened, but to make you feel it all over again.
